The Workshop will focus on the practical aspects of fully integrated, coupled groundwater/surface water modelling. The workshop will provide a lively forum for learning and debate, benefiting a large cross-section of professional modellers and water managers.
In the Workshop, you will learn about the assumptions, limitations and practicalities of building and deploying a MIKE SHE model for integrated catchment modelling in Nevada. DHI’s MIKE SHE allows you to simulate the physical linkages and feedbacks between groundwater, surface water, infiltration and ET in a way in which no other software is capable. By the end of the day, you will understand the basics of MIKE SHE, including. Partitioning rainfall into runoff, infiltration and ET. Simulating unsaturated and saturated groundwater flow. Coupling groundwater and surface water. Understanding the data requirements. Setting up and calibrating a fully integrated model. Evaluating a physics-based, fully distributed water balance.
By the end of the Workshop, you will have a working MIKE SHE model and an overview of how physics-based, fully integrated catchment modelling might benefit your projects.
