Graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana. In August of 1984 joined the U.S. Geological Survey as a hydrologic technician station at the Nevada Test Site, conducted hydrologic testing and monitoring of ground water conditions for the Yucca Mountain project and weapons testing programs. In 1988 worked for a private consulting company installing deep monitoring wells at a hazardous water facility. Joined the Las Vegas Valley Water District in 1989 as a hydrologist to work on the installation of municipal production wells and artificial recharge wells. Participated in ground water characterization investigation in eastern and southern Nevada and formation of the Las Vegas Valley Ground Water Management Program while with Southern Nevada Water Authority. In 1999 joined the Virgin Valley Water District as Chief Hydrologist to characterize the hydrology of the lower Virgin River Basin, develop the potable water supply and manage the water resources associated with the service area of the Virgin Valley Water District.
