Lake Tahoe Basin, Sciences & Research Scholarship

The 6th Biennial Lake Tahoe Basin Science Conference: “Environmental Restoration in a Changing Climate”, was held September 21-23, 2015, in Reno, Nevada. The goal of the Tahoe Science Conference was to reach the professionals who were involved in science and management of the Lake Tahoe Basin and other alpine or aquatic ecosystems in the region, the United States and globally. Presenting their message during the three-day Tahoe Science Conference was an excellent opportunity for promoting sustainable environmental stewardship. Funds remaining as a result of the 2015 Tahoe Science Conference will be awarded to five individuals who are currently involved in research in the Lake Tahoe Basin.   $500 scholarships will be awarded to five students.  Qualified students must be pursuing research in the Lake Tahoe Basin.  Preference is given to students who demonstrate scholastic aptitudes and serious long-term interest in the Lake Tahoe Basin.  The scholarships are available to high school students, undergraduate students, and graduate students.

The Tahoe Science Conference Scholarship application must be received by July 30, 2018.  Applications received after that date will not be considered.  Students must submit the application form and a short (no more than one page) Curriculum Vita that emphasizes activities not included in the application form.  A one paragraph description of their thesis topic, field of interest or career goals is required of all candidates.  Applications must be received in electronic format or postal mail by July 30, 2018.  Incomplete applications will be returned.
