2027 Bridging Gap Between Scientific Results and Stakeholder Needs Workshop
Results from scientific investigations frequently are not conveyed well to stakeholders. Gaps between published results and stakeholder needs frequently occur. These gaps exist when: 1) a scientific investigation was not designed to answer stakeholder questions, 2) investigative results are not connected directly to stakeholder problems, 3) stakeholder questions are too diverse to be answered by an investigation, 4) published results are so qualified that no questions are answered, and/or 5) prolonged delays exist between expected delivery and publication of results. Presentations are solicited where gaps between scientific results and stakeholder needs have occurred and how gaps in understanding were reduced. This session primarily solicits examples of these gaps from the stakeholder perspective.
