NDEP - Environmental Scientist
The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection Bureau of Water Quality Planning is seeking an Environmental Scientist in the Nonpoint Source Pollution Program (NPS Program). The NPS Program’s role is to coordinate, collaborate, and build key partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders and partners to effectively address NPS impacts to surface waters in the State. The NPS State Management Plan (SMP) describes priority NPS Program goals and objectives and outlines how we will work with partners to address NPS pollution to improve and protect surface water quality across the State.

Truckee River Watershed Council - Internship

This annual program offers experience at a small, successful, local non-profit organization. The intern reports to the Executive Director and will have the opportunity to work with all staff, attend restoration planning and stakeholder meetings, participate in construction observation, and assist with pre- and post- project monitoring. The intern also has significant responsibilities in the areas of fundraising, media, technology, administration, and outreach.
This internship provides valuable exposure to different aspects of the operation of an environmental non-profit, including how different partners work together to accomplish large scale ecological restoration projects. Past interns are now working in forestry management, for land trusts, and in land-use planning positions. Interning with TRWC helped them achieve these positions. Click here for more information! The Director of Finance supports strategic planning, financial sustainability, and multi-year forecasting, while ensuring strong financial reporting, budgeting, and operational efficiency. Minimum five years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or related field. Experience in nonprofit accounting, budgeting, and grants management strongly desired. This is a full-time position at 32 hours per week with full benefits.
