Nevada Water Resources Association has programming committees as part of our role to provide relevant educational opportunities.  These committees offer opportunities for Nevada's water resource professionals to develop meaningful training ideas that highlight their expertise within the community.

These groups help craft events designed to improve the transmission of knowledge and strengthen professional ties among members. Get ready for engaging tours, workshops, presentations, webinars, and panel discussions that confront the latest challenges and explore technological advancements in water management.

We warmly invite all NWRA members to join and lead these committees. It’s a wonderful opportunity to shape the events available to  Nevada’s water professionals and truly make an impact in our state. Come be a part of something big!

Joint Meeting - Water Law & Policy, Environmental & Conservation, and Water Rights & Surveying Committee:

Joint meeting for 3 NWRA committees for May 2026. The meeting will feature:
Dr. Amy Quandt, Associate Professor, San Diego State University
Repurposing Land, Managing Groundwater: Stakeholder Perspectives from San Joaquin Valley
This presentation will explore stakeholder perspectives on groundwater management and policy-driven land repurposing in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The discussion will highlight how water, conservation, agricultural, and community stakeholders are navigating land transitions under changing groundwater conditions.
Dr. Quandt’s work examines options such as habitat restoration, solar development, livestock grazing, groundwater recharge, temporary fallowing, and recreation, while also considering potential impacts on adjacent agricultural lands, including concerns about pest and weed pressures. VIEW PDF HERE
