History You Can Walk Through

Step back in time and explore one of Nevada's most important historic mining sites: the legendary Sutro Tunnel.  A visit to the Sutro Tunnel is like stepping into a forgotten chapter of Nevada history. Wander among 11 historic buildings, explore the museum, discover the remains of a once-thriving mining community, and experience the stories of the people who helped shape Nevada's mining history.

We plan to experience the Sutro Tunnel in a more personal and exclusive setting. The private tour offers an in-depth exploration of the site with one of the historical guides.  This immersive experience brings the Sutro Tunnel and the legendary Comstock Lode to life. Learn about Adolph Sutro's vision, the challenges of mining thousands of feet beneath the earth, and the engineering ingenuity that transformed the American West.

The NWRA Private Tour Includes

  • A personalized guided experience

  • Explore inside the restored Sutro Tunnel

Each participant will provide their own transportation to the site and carpool options will be available.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be sent to NWRA via fax (775-473-5473) or by email to admin@nvwra.org. All cancellations dated by May 10, 2027, will receive a refund minus a 25% administrative fee. Cancellations received after that date will not be refunded. Substitutions are welcome!
